Alongside announcing its Intel 13th gen “Raptor Lake” desktop CPUs yesterday, Intel also introduced a new software tool meant to help your phone and PC connect, share files and manage notifications, messages and calls. Intel Unison will be supported on 13th gen devices and certain laptops with Intel Evo 12th Gen CPUs though as it stands it may only work on upcoming devices.

The big deal is that Unison supports both Android and iOS which was not previously seen on other Windows cross-collaboration solutions like Microsoft’s Phone Link (aka Your Phone). Unison is based on technology from Screenovate – a software company acquired by Intel last year.

Intel Unison pairs to your Android/iOS phone via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth and will work slightly differently depending on your connected phone. Some features will not be supported on iPhones – namely multiparty messaging. Third-party notification management on both Android and iOS devices will vary based on app behavior. Intel Unison is coming to PCs from Lenovo, Acer and HP later this fall and Intel 13th gen PCs early next year.
